After my recent post showing the Copic Storage Unit that I made using Foam Core Board, I had several requests for the instructions and this is what I came up with.
I hope it is clear enough to understand. Having it clear in your head and putting it on paper is not as easy as it seems.
Anyhoo...this is it.....

Assemble the outside of the unit using glue gun or epoxy glue.
Assemble the outside of the unit using glue gun or epoxy glue.
Once assembled, divide each shelf by the number of pigeon holes you require (don't forget to take into account the thickness of the upright dividers when calculating).
When you have the shelves ready, prepare the upright dividers, taking care to match slots with shelves.
This is how the slotted dividers should look like when correctly assembled.
Once you have all the shelves/dividers slotted together, carefully place inside the unit frame. At this point you may need to glue dividers to the frame at some points. And that's it....finished.

As I got this idea from 'zkittyz' on YouTube and modified it to suit, you can easily modify it to suit your needs as well.

Once you have made the calculations, mark the board at the measured requirements with pencil.
The mark should be 1/4" or 5mm wide and be half the depth of the shelf.
*See photo below

This is my finished unit....I would love to see yours, so come back and leave your URL when your finished and I will come and look.
Good luck everyone ...:)

Wow! Jen i love this, had i not had the luck to get a great stand from "Too" in Japan for all my copics, this would definitely have been my choice of stand as the foam core is also really cheap here. TFS

Hi Jennifer!
What a great idea. I don't have any copic's yet but can see potential for other things. I too would be interested in where you got the foam core. This will give my hubby something to do heehee. Hopefully I can get it here on the Sunshine Coast.

thank you so much for the visual makes it so much easier.
i made one of these last night. i had to make it with only 2 shelves as it would interfere with my pegboard. thanks for the instructions.
What a great idea,it looks great, you are a lady of many talents. xo
Thank you so much for the storage instruction Jennifer. I cut all the pieces and after my sore fingers, I had my husband to finish off for me, lol. I love the turned out. A wonderful sharing. THANKS :o)

Great idea Jennifer! I think I might "borrow" your idea. I was just wondering if the foam core is not too light and if it didn't happen to fall or twist, if you know what I mean. Because I was trying something similar and I had to glue them to a chipboard to have it fixed right.
Thanks again,
Hugs, Iulia
i was looking for a way to store my ever growing Copic collection but didn't want to spend a fortune on it. Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic idea!
